John Deere Expert Check program: your machines need such an inspection

A well-finished season is one that ends with a detailed review of the machines. Only thanks to it we minimize the risk of unpleasant (and very expensive) surprises, such as downtime at key moments in field work. John Deere directs the Expert Check program to everyone who wants to control the technical condition of their machines, optimize their performance, prevent failures in advance and ensure their own safety in everyday work. The Expert Check program is dedicated to all John Deere machines, and its Expert Check 7+ edition is dedicated to machines older than 7 years.

  • John Deere’s Expert Check program is the most thorough and thorough inspection available on the market;
  • The program covers all John Deere machines, not only purchased from an authorized dealer, but also second-hand.
  • If necessary, John Deere service technicians will recommend less expensive, but certified, replacement parts.

What is Expert Check?

This is a thorough inspection carried out according to factory guidelines, which provides the dealer with a complete inspection list with over 100 points for each machine. The equipment is taken care of by experienced specialists who not only check all its elements, but also interview the operator to find out his opinion on the operation of the machine during the season and select individual solutions.

Many farmers decide to carry out the inspection themselves. It’s definitely better than nothing, but its results can be misleading. The main criterion of “home inspections” is to assess whether something works. And taking into account the technological advancement of systems, especially hydraulic or electronic ones, many faults are simply not physically visible to the naked eye. Even if key parts of the machine are working, we may be surprised by the failure of a small element considered insignificant. Specialized diagnostic tools with the support of the dealer’s expertise will help you avoid trouble. And any such oversight can lead to a serious failure over time.

What’s more, by choosing Expert Check, we are not left alone with major technical problems. The authorized John Deere dealer service department is in constant contact with the factories and is able to consult on an ongoing basis in difficult and non-obvious failures. Each inspection under the program is also recorded in the system, so you have access to the full history of the machine at a given dealer.

Which machines are covered by Expert Check?

Expert Check John Deere

All John Deere machines can count on the Expert Check: combines, forage harvesters, tractors, sprayers, balers, and even lawn care machines. For example, in the case of tractors, the inspection list assumes, among others, cylinder test, DEF pump check, meticulous check of all systems (including hydraulic and powertrain). As part of the Expert Check, the John Deere team not only watches over the machine’s efficiency, but also ensures that it has the highest possible performance. An extension of the review carried out may also be a machine operation optimization service.

In addition, it is worth noting that even older machines can be upgraded to connect them to JD Link by retrofitting with the latest MTG 4G module. Thanks to this, already in the tractors of the 30 series, we can use the vast majority of the benefits of combining the machine.

An overview tailored to your needs and budget

After several hours of inspection, the farmer receives comprehensive information on the condition of each tested item. – After the review, the dealer’s service department presents the customer with the results and proposes variants both regarding the purchase of parts and the repair schedule.

The John Deere offer for repairs currently includes three ranges of parts: John Deere Original, John Deere Reman (within this offer they are about 20% cheaper than the original and covered by the warranty) and Alternatives by John Deere (so-called “replacement” certified by John Deere, prepared for older machines, which often do not work so intensively).

What about second-hand machines?

Customers who have invested in agricultural equipment from the used machinery market are not left alone. – Used equipment needs special care, especially before starting work, so we decided to extend the Expert Check program also to those machines that were not purchased from a dealer. The basis is, of course, the replacement of oil and filters, but we also make sure in what technical condition it was delivered to the new owner and whether the required software updates were installed to properly optimize operating costs. If you buy or own a machine older than 7 years, customers can take advantage of the special Expert Check 7+ offer.

After a thorough inspection by the John Deere team, used farm equipment will no longer be a ticking time bomb.

View inside with JD Link

Not only a meticulous inspection of the individual parts of the machine, but also the renewal of the JD Link subscription has a significant impact on further operation. Why? First of all, the connection of machines in the John Deere system allows you to remotely read the codes of errors already appearing in the machine, and thanks to Expert Alerts – to predict a possible fault. Service Advisor Remote allows you to significantly shorten the period of diagnostics, which can be performed remotely – the dealer can carry it out from the office level and have a ready solution to the problem when meeting with the customer. In this way, time is saved, which is the most valuable, especially during the period of increased work – e.g. during the harvest, when every hour can be important. In addition, by connecting to JD Link, we can receive notifications about upcoming maintenance and parts that may need to be replaced.

Special review for models 7+

Many farmers rely on older machines and know that their reliability depends on regular maintenance. – We have introduced Expert Check 7+ for equipment that is more than 7 years old, so that it can serve farms as long as possible. The checklist provides 140 points and allows for accurate technical diagnosis. The program is available for John Deere 6, 7 models, 8 series tractors, as well as self-propelled sprayers, round balers and C, W, T series combines.

The success of field work depends on many factors beyond the farmer’s control, which is why he should take care of the areas on which he has a real impact. Experienced John Deere service technicians are there to support every responsible farmer who knows that there is no place for hasty decisions in agriculture.
